A cooling incubator (also called a low-range or refrigerating incubator) is an isolated hot and cool chamber with a temperature range of 5 °C to 60 °C, used especially in hot or dry areas where ambient temperature is high. It protects cultures from outside contamination and from physical or temperature changes in the environment, and provides a reliable environment for cell and tissue culture.
